Tuesday, July 16th at 7pm the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami) welcomes artist and scholar Emily Eliza Scott to the Art + Research Center for a new lecture entitled “Un-spectacularizing Climate Change”. From Scott: “Working against the spectacular nature of much climate change imagery, this talk will consider critical practices by artists, activists, and others that highlight the extent to which climate change unfolds in ways that are often small, slow, invisible, or even disguised—and thus far trickier to sense and represent”. Emily Eliza Scott is an interdisciplinary scholar, artist, and former park ranger focused on contemporary art and design practices that engage pressing (political) ecological issues, often with the intent to actively transform real-world conditions. This event is FREE and Open to the Public, RSVP here.
