Thursday, June 29th from 5:30 – 8:30pm PAMM Museum Circle members are invited to a private reception at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) prior to the museum’s Scholl Lecture Series, presented by Goldman Sachs, featuring renowned photographer Marilyn Nance.
Nance produced photographs of unique moments in the cultural history of the United States and the African Diaspora, culminating in an archive of images of late 20th century African American life. A 2020 Arts Matters Grant recipient, Nance is a two-time finalist for the W. Eugene Smith Award in Humanistic Photography. Her work is in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA), and the Library of Congress, and has been published in The World History of Photography, History of Women in Photography, and The Black Photographers Annual.
