Art Miami, CONTEXT & Aqua, the Trinity of Art Fairs

Art Miami is the city’s original and longest running contemporary and modern art fair, now celebrating its 25th anniversary, together with its adjacent sister fair CONTEXT, will present an array of dynamic projects and exhibitions as the anchor event of Art Week in Miami, December 2-7, 2014. The trinity wouldn’t be complete without Aqua Art Miami at the Aqua Hotel on Miami Beach.

Art Miami is one of the leading international contemporary and modern art fairs that takes place each December during Art Week at the Midtown Miami complex in the renowned Wynwood Arts District. It is one of the most important annual contemporary art events in the United States, attracting more than 72,500 motivated collectors, curators, museum professionals and art enthusiasts from around the globe during Art Week 2013. Art Miami remains committed to showcasing the most important artworks of the 20th and 21st centuries in collaboration with a selection of the world’s most respected galleries.

CONTEXT is the sister fair to Art Miami dedicated to the development and reinforcement of emerging and mid-career artists. Launched in 2012, CONTEXT’s open atmosphere creates a meaningful dialogue between artists, galleries and collectors while providing the ultimate platform for the presentation of mid-career, emergent and cutting-edge talent by emerging and established galleries.

Aqua Art Miami announces its tenth edition – its second since joining the Art Miami family of fairs. Aqua has consistently earned critical recognition for presenting vibrant and noteworthy international art programs with a particular interest in supporting young and established galleries with strong emerging and mid-career artists.

Aqua Art Miami continues this tradition established in 2005, attracting increasingly diverse and distinguished exhibitors while retaining the fair’s signature relaxed vibe and lively energy. Aqua’s unique environment – in a classic South Beach hotel with spacious exhibition rooms that open onto a breezy, intimate courtyard – has become a favorite gathering spot for collectors, curators and art lovers to discover fresh talent and acquire new works while exchanging cultural ideas and forming meaningful connections.

Aqua’s 2014 edition features 46 dynamic exhibitors from North and South America, Europe and Asia whose displays of high-quality art are enhanced by the refined production values and expanded amenities that the fair’s new ownership offers. Innovative interdisciplinary programming, multimedia installations and other happenings create an immersive experience for fairgoers.
