Norton Museum: Art After Dark, Picasso’s Paris

Thursday, September 1st from 5-9pm enjoy the Norton Museum of Art‘s popular weekly program Art After Dark – Where Culture and Entertainment Meet. Presenting an eclectic and fascinating mix of art, music, film, and more, including docent-led tours exploring a particular theme in the Museum Collection or a special exhibition, and Curators’ Conversations focusing on exhibitions they’ve organized. Art workshops and demonstrations are also part of the fun.

By gluing different materials together into a single composition, Pablo Picasso and his colleague Georges Braque launched a visual revolution in 20th century art. Create your own collage, led by teaching artist Sammi McLean. / Davis Gallery

6:30-8:30pm / Film – Paris: The Luminous Years
A storm of Modernism swept through the art worlds of the West in the early decades of the twentieth century, uprooting centuries of tradition. The epicenter of this storm was Paris, France. For an incandescent moment from 1905 to 1930, Paris was the magnetic center for radical innovation and experiment, and the Mecca for creative talents who would change the course of art throughout the Western world. / Fisher Gallery.
