Draw sculptures in the Central Garden led by teaching artist Sammi McLean / Davis Gallery

6:30pm / Curator’s Conversation / Brancusi: Beyond Sculpture
Constantin Brancusi is known for his contributions to modernism as a sculptor. He also explored photography and captured many two-dimensional images of his three-dimensional works throughout the 1920s. Curatorial Assistant J. Rachel Gustafson looks at Brancusi’s use of the photographic medium and specifically examines photographs of the artist’s 1925 sculpture, Mademoiselle Pogany II, from the Norton’s collection. / Picower Gallery

7:30pm / Film: Hand Gestures (77 min)
This documentary follows the process of creating one of Velasco Vitali’s famous dog sculptures, from wax to glazed bronze, at Fonderia Artistica Battaglia (Battaglia Artistic Foundry) in Milan, a place where the past and present share the same gestures and where each gesture is a sculpture itself. The film observes the work of a group of skilled artisans in this 100-year old foundry and reveals the ancient traditions of bronze sculpture making, unchanged since the sixth century B.C. / Fisher Gallery

Until 8:30pm / Bar and snacks by Potions in Motion / Fisher Gallery

Schedule is subject to change. This program is made possible in part through the generosity of The Addison Hines Charitable Trust. Admission: Free for all through December 2018.
