Saturday, February 10th from 7 – 10pm the Amadlozi Gallery at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center invites you to Papers: The Children of Immigrants Exhibition Opening & Artist Talk featuring eye-popping and thought-provoking art work by the self-taught multi-disiplinary Haitian Jamaican textile artist Mark Delmont.
This powerful artistic work explores immigrants arriving from the Caribbean, West Africa and South America seeking a better life for their families in the United States.
Papers: The Children of Immigrants exhibition opens with a viewing of Mark Delmont’s innovative mixed-media creations and an Artist Talk with Delmont discussing his method of utilizing up-cycles stagnant or used materials from the earth to make massive pieces that reflect the times.
