Diana Lowenstein Gallery presents Luis Gomez
June 16, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Friday, June 16th from 6-9pm Diana Lowenstein Gallery presents the opening of Cuban artist Luis Gómez’ exhibition. The artist uses installation, video, photography, and painting, with the intention of confrontation of art, the society with the inevitable power relations. He investigates the relationships that surround the art and forms of consumption, focusing at times on specific aspects of the work and the artist market itself. It is inspired by a complex thought connected to different pieces of knowledge and practices, drawing origin and inspiration from many disciplines – from sociology to literature, from political economy to the technological and communicative research, between relativity and fiction, collective imaginary and false truths. The exhibition is on view through July 25th, 2017.
