Frost Art Museum Artist Lecture & Reception with Gary Monroe

Thursday, August 29th from 3-5pm enjoy an Artist Lecture & Reception at the Frost Art Museum with photographer Gary Monroe who will discuss his series South Beach, 1977-1986 on view at the Frost Art Museum FIU. In 1977, Monroe embarked on a decade-long project to photograph the aging Jewish community in South Beach. He had grown up around this community and sought to capture the vibrancy and slow decline of this close-knit neighborhood. After the lecture guests will enjoy cafecito and pastelitos. RSVP here.
