Friday, February 16th at 12:30pm experience Artist Roundtable: Zombie Painting presented by Michael Z. Belcon at NSU Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This intimate conversation will center around Zombie Painting, the art medium that “never dies” despite repeated declarations of its demise throughout modern times. Join Michael Z. Belcon, NSU Art Museum’s Wege Foundation Assistant Education Curator, as he leads this roundtable discussion regarding the persistence of painting’s traditions and innovations. This program is presented in conjunction with the Museum’s exhibition Glory of the World: Color Field Painting.
The Artist’s Roundtable lunch-time series connects museum visitors to creative professionals, igniting conversations in a close discussion around ideology, practice, and technique.

Guest Speaker
Michael Z. Belcon is a multi-disciplined artist, his practice focuses on exploring methods of print media, digital media, painting, drawing, and sculpture. He works to facilitate the arts through education into his raison d’être or reason for being. His recent series Exercise is an ongoing video animation project which actively gathers and showcases a mark-making lexicon that is physically produced, and digitally transformed. Born on December 15th 1993 in Toronto, Canada, he attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and graduated with a BFA in 2016. He works as a Curator of Education in the arts in South Florida.
