Saturday, May 13th from 11am – 3pm in celebration of Haitian Heritage Month, join the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) for a day of free art and entertainment for guests of all ages.
Explore Haiti’s deep roots in South Florida and its beautiful language, people, and culture, all while creating art on the museum’s waterfront terrace. Enjoy performances by local Haitian drumming groups, a celebration of Kreyòl poetry, and Haitian music. Bring a poem to participate in our Kreyol poetry celebration and join in on PAMM’s drumming circle.
As part of PAMM Free Second Saturdays, admission is free all day. Art activities are from 11am–3pm or until supplies last.
11am | Opening procession
11:15am–12pm | Opening Kemetic yoga session with Ayiti Bluez. Please bring your own yoga mat. Some mats are available on first come, first served basis.
12pm | National anthem of Haiti and remarks by PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans.
12:30pm | Sunsum Machete Dance
1pm | Ayiti Blues spoken word and poem
2pm | Announcement of kite raffle
3pm | Closing remarks and Tradisyon Lakou Lakay Shadow Dance
3:30–4pm | Drum circle beach bash. Bring their own drums and instruments to participate.
