Saturday, March 25th from 2 – 5pm join Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) for the spring artwork showcase of the museum’s newly-launched Creative Aging Series. Creative Aging Series is a free art-making program for individuals over the age of 55 seeking a community-based creative outlet. The program consists of project-based workshops led by teaching artists, contemporary and modern art history, learning experiences, and a culminating public event to celebrate the participants’ work.
For this workshop series, PAMM partnered with residents from Hialeah Housing Authority. Participants focused their time on creating two ceramic projects with teaching artist Carolina Cueva and assistant Marie Franco. They explored hand-building methods such as slab, coil, and sculpting, and painted their final fired pieces by hand.
