Prior to the Seattle Art Museum, Diaz served as the chief curator at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, where he organized noteworthy exhibitions including Paola Pivi: I Want It All (2022); Fantasy America (2021); Andy Warhol: Revelation (2020); Farhad Moshiri: Go West (2018); and Andy Warhol Kyoto (2022).
Previously, Diaz served as the curator of exhibitions at The Bass in Miami Beach, overseeing public art commissions and curating the traveling exhibition GOLD (2015). He also worked at Tate Liverpool on projects such as Doug Aitken’s inaugural UK public artwork and at the Liverpool Biennial on Tania Bruguera’s Arte Cátedra de Conducta. A Miami native, he earned a BA in Art History from San Francisco State University and an MA in Cultural History from the University of Liverpool.
