The Bass presents Small Talk with Artist Mark Handforth

Wednesday, December 16th from 6-6:45pm The Bass presents Small Talk with Artist Mark Handforth hosted on Zoom. Meet the artist and sculptor Mark Handforth for Small Talk, an informal conversation happening on Zoom facilitated by Executive Director and Chief Curator Silvia Karman Cubiñá. The artist’s work Untitled (Silver Branch), 2016 is now on view in The Willfulness of Objects. RSVP here.

In his sculptural installations, Mark Handforth transplants familiar objects into unfamiliar surroundings in order to reveal something new about the ways in which these things exist and function in our everyday lives. Born in Hong Kong, raised in England, and based in Miami since 1992, Handforth revels in the skewed perspectives and unintended consequences that result from cultural migration and displacement.

Small Talk is the latest virtual series hosted by The Bass and, just like it sounds, they’re going informal.
