Saturday, October 12th from 10am – 12pm and 1-3pm (2 Sessions) The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery and Exhibition Hall presents Industrial Adornments. Under the guidance of artist duo KX2, students will discover a variety of beginner jewelry-making techniques, essential terminology and an introduction to basic tools and materials. The Frank is offering (2) sessions, 10am-12pm and 1-3pm.
KX2 is the artist/sister collaboration of artist Dana Kleinman and metalsmith Ruth Avra Kleinman. Their work has been shown internationally, including at the 2008 Beijing Biennale at the National Museum of China in conjunction with the Summer Olympics. A jewelry designer as well as a metalsmith, Ruth Avra holds a degree in Art Jewelry from the University of Wisconsin Madison and runs her own jewelry company, Avra Inc.
This event is free to the public. All materials provided. No prior experience required. Ages: 12yrs+
PLEASE NOTE: Workshop spots are on a first come, first serve basis. The Frank can accommodate 25 guests for each workshop presented unless otherwise stated. Due to limited capacity, additional guests and observers will not be permitted.
