Thursday, November 3rd from 6 – 9pm you’re invited to Pérez Art Museum Miami‘s beach for their Floating Films Series in collaboration with Ballyhoo Media! In celebration of National Novel Writing Month, PAMM will screen the 2019 documentary Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am.
This is an artful and intimate meditation on the life and works of the legendary storyteller and Nobel prize-winner. From her childhood in the steel town of Lorain, Ohio, to ʼ70s-era book tours with Muhammad Ali, from the front lines with Angela Davis to her own riverfront writing room—Toni Morrison leads an assembly of her peers, critics, and colleagues on an exploration of race, America, history and the human condition as seen through the prism of her own literature.
The film will be screened from the water and guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Schedule: 5–8pm | Happy hour at Verde 5–6:30pm | Live music by Backroom Sessions 6pm–8:30pm | Screening of Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am 9pm | Galleries and museum close
