Global Artist Evi Photopoulos Excelling In Every Format
Renowned multidisciplinary artist Evi Photopoulos is known worldwide for her paintings, public art installations, video art, film, sculpture and more. She is an award-winning artist whose work is widely exhibited throughout Europe and the United States.
Some of her most recent notable achievements include her sculpture exhibition Art from Flour Creations in Mills of Crete, exhibited in the Musée du Louvre 2015 and the works are included in The Art Book at the Louvre Paris, France Still Life Collection. Her oil painting ‘Souls in Desperation’ was awarded the honorary Celeste Prize Winner in 2012.
The artists work ‘Voices of the Waters’ was recently spotlighted this summer 2016 via Samaria Natural Spring Water / Νερό Σαμαριά – Samaria Water, as the global artist was selected for her short film ‘Water In 60 SEC’.
Photopoulos was the Guest of Honor at the Cannes Film Festival with daily screenings of her short film ‘The Black Wines of Eros‘ via New World Cinemas May 10-20, 2016. The international filmmaker & artists award-winning film was selected for two Festivals during Festival de Cannes. The short film won numerous awards and was highlighted with daily screenings as the winner at Cannes International Film Festival & Marche Du Film.
The Black Wines of Eros project is a multi-media involvement of fine art, costume design, scenario, poems/songs, and acting based on Photopoulos’ poetry book Eros The Nude. Guests at the film festivals enjoyed a live performance with the artist & filmmakers’ songs played on the piano during Cannes Festival & March du Film by composer Giannis Christodoulopoulos (Olympic 2004). Daily screenings took place, and her composer played songs on the piano based on Photopoulos’ book of poems. With a multitude of artworks including the creation of contemporary oil paintings and dozens of art series, Photopoulos is a globally acclaimed, award-winning artist. She has participated in a myriad of international art fairs and art biennales, in addition to countless solo and group exhibitions and shows in galleries across the United States, Asia and Europe. Her works are held in private collections in many countries and museums worldwide.
Photopoulos was nominated as Best Actress at the New York Film Festival, and the Committee of the International Film Awards (New Cinema Festival of New York, New York and Hollywood, Los Angeles) acknowledged and included the artist as a member of their juried committee for 2016.
