The Centennial Concert will also serve as a platform to address Climate change and issues like rising sea-levels, while the 4-C’s Environmental Summit will offer a forum to discuss some of the most pressing concerns facing the environment and provide strategies. Art has long been a powerful vehicle for generating awareness of many important issues such as the environment. As an ode to the city, Miami-based artist duo Yuhmi Collective was invited by the Stanton South Beach Hotel to create an outdoor mural of a mermaid that overlooks the hotel’s oceanfront terrace. The piece symbolizes the “past waves and future currents” of the community by bringing awareness to the city’s beach preservation initiatives. The hotel is known for working with local Wynwood artists to bring the vibe of Miami’s art district to the beach, featuring a myriad of murals throughout the property. Located at 161 Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, Florida 33139.

“As an ocean-side city with one of the most popular and celebrated beaches in the world – we believe 2015 is the year to celebrate both our illustrious past and also start the next 100 years by increasing awareness for a global climate initiative with Miami Beach leading the way.” said Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine.
