With A Successful Art Career Spanning Over 20 Years, Natália Gromicho Is Just Warming Up
We’re highlighting Lisbon-based artist Natália Gromicho as she celebrates 20 years of creative success. With an art career spanning over 70 solo exhibits & group shows, the artist says she’s just warming up.
The internationally recognized painter was born in Lisbon, Portugal and is a graduate of the Faculdade de Belas Artes Universidade de Lisboa. She now operates her own gallery in the heart of the Downtown Chiado arts district in Lisbon, Meeting Art Gallery, which is hosting its 3rd Edition of the Lisbon International Contemporary Exhibition. The showcase will feature over a dozen top international visual artists October 3-10, 2015 from countries such as Portugal, USA, Italy, Sweden, Belgium, Spain and more.
Studying Arts and Crafts, including ceramics, this multi-talented artist is also a graduate from the prestigious ArCo School of Art in Lisbon, where she focused on intensive painting. She is also trained in sculpture and has collaborated with the famous Cuban artist and sculptor, Hans Varela. Gromicho has showcased her work in international exhibitions such as: Italy’s International Human Rights Exhibition; Brazil’s South American Arts & Fashion Exhibition Casa Cor; Miami’s World Tour Exhibitions of Contemporary Artists; and she was the first Portuguese artist in Adelaide, Australia for the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
The artist has garnered a long list of worldwide collectors over the years, countries including Portugal, Brazil, Spain, the USA, UK, France, Italy, Holland, Australia and more. Gromicho is the winner of several creative contests, one of which was winning “Best Rolling Stone Alternative Logo” for a major Portuguese radio commercial in 1999. She won a trip to London and met the Rolling Stones at Bridges to Babylon Tour in Wembley.
